What is the TCV?

The TCV is an opportunity to build a community within the community.  The people involved with the project will seek to co-opt  common elements of the system in which we live and combine them into a social and economic whole that works for every member of the group.  A community that offers real stability to its willing participants, as well as its neighbors.

How will the TCV help at the start?

The first phase of the TCV will be an exercise in bringing people together.  Once we have established a property with the proper amenities and a shop to facilitate further construction, we will invite in artisans and builders of every variety.  This initial community will construct, teach, and grow the concept.  The equipment we purchase will be used for future projects.  The collaborations we plan will bring together a fully realized version of the TCV.

What use will the TCV be eventually?

The TCV is meant to exhibit the power of people working creatively toward a common goal.  As such, its uses will be many and varied.  It will mitigate homelessness by altering society's relationship with the unhoused and offering new options for those who find themselves without resources.  It will localize manufacturing and food production by encouraging builders and organizing growth.  It will stabilize the environment through a continuous effort to regrow and clean up local ecosystems.  It will educate by offering practical training for adults and primary school classes for children.  It will offer protection through planning and community involvement.  Using tested methods and bringing them to bear on specific situations will make the TCV adaptable to most any situation.

What will the startup cost be?

The Foundation stage of the TCV will be separated into two parts, each costing an estimated million dollars.  The first phase will deal with legal preparedness, the purchase of property, and installation of basic utilities.  The second phase will include the building of necessary infrastructure and purchase of necessary equipment.
